"We, the Salesian Sisters, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, are a religious community of women founded by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello.
Our mission is: to provide Christian education and formation to the young, especially the poor, and women at risk; joyfully proclaim the Good News to all cultures; and promote the regeneration of a more just and humane society."The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, also known as the Salesian Sisters, are dedicated to educating youth of all ages, serving the poor, and assisting women at risk. The community, which numbers over 11,500 worldwide, is the largest community of women religious in the world serving in 97 countries.
Our commitment to education and formation is at the heart of our mission as Salesian-consecrated women. Every Salesian sister entrusts her life to God for the salvation of young people.
Our spirituality is centered on the love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, devotion to Mary Help of Christians, and fidelity to the Holy Father.
On August 6, 2018, the Salesian Sisters began our mission in Bend, Oregon. At the invitation of the local Ordinary, the Most Reverend Liam Cary, and the Pastor, Fr. Jose Thomas Mudakodiyil, our sisters traveled to this beautiful diocese where they were warmly welcomed by parishioners, staff, students, and parents.
