DECEMBER

~ The Divine Maternity ~ Mary in Her 9th Month

 The Advent Season Continues

 O Come, O Come, Emmanuel!

Since the beginning of time ( Genesis 2, on ) a most Loving God has had a most splendid desire to share Himself with all   He made in His Image and Likeness....so   much love He had that He longed to share with those whom He would call His children, man and woman with soul and body.  So, since the beginning of time, God had great designs on man and on woman.  In fact He had a majestic and miraculous role for all women, especially for one Woman, a young virgin, who would be blessed among all women. (Luke 1 39-45) Mary! of Nazareth, a young girl in her early teens who would say “Yes!” to become the Mother of God, miraculously conceiving of the Holy Spirit, the Savior, Jesus Christ.  St. Joseph, her loving and protective spouse, would become His foster father.

AS JOSEPH WAS A-WALKING

As Joseph was a-walking,

He heard an angel sing,

“This night shall be the birth time

Of Christ, the Heav'nly King.

“He neither shall be born

In housen nor in hall,

Nor in the place of Paradise,

But in an ox's stall

He neither shall be clothed

In purple nor in pall,

But in the fair white linen

That usen babies all.

“He neither shall be rocked

In silver nor in gold,

But in a wooden manger

That resteth on the mold.”
